hahahahahahaha!!!! wow – people in the office have just showed concern regarding the potential scenario of me wetting my pants – i was laughing so much! It started out with little giggles..and ended with full blown laughing out load with tears in my eyes =) **

I was wondering where that golf glove came from. It just randomly appeared around the house. I think it has even made its way into my room now.

Last time I climbed this route (a few years back now) we didn’t get point #1 right and ended up starting at 11h00 on a day when temps reached 41 degrees.

That having been said, I will never forget how awesome the water was – we ignored the no swimming sign and floated in that ‘pond’ for an hour at least.

An awesome hike, and one that even the 2 10 year olds with us made (who am I kidding, they raced up it leaving us adults trailing and panting…)

Hahaha, I make a point of never hiking anywhere that I can’t be airlifted out by chopper if the need arises.

I am that person who end up packing EVERYTHING I really didn’t need and then some, and then the backpack gets to heavy for a mere mortal to lug around. (You know you’ve reached this phase when you carry it uphills and throw it down to save time and effort). But I’m usually the only one with silly things like first aid kits and candles with me if you need one.

I think you met up with us after this and drank lots of tequila… it explains A LOT! #;-)

Do it sober!
Take lots of water; energy food a hat and a jacket.
Apply loads of sunscreen regulary.
Take it easy.
Stop & smell the fynbos!

Exactly how I remember it, minus the walking face first into a tree. That being said, I do remember almost falling off the edge of the worlds highest cliff while laughing at your conflict with said tree.
