A Little Something About Going Soft

No, this isn’t about your spirit, or losing your confidence.  This is far more important and pertinent.  This is about the penis.  Plain and simple. A friend of mine recently brought up the topic of guys in bed.  As you do.  Anyway, we got onto normal behaviour – Like what is normal and what isn’t.  And if it’s normal for a guy to lose his, ummm, mojo during sex. In all seriousness, however, there are circumstances when it’s “okay” when this happens.  But let’s be honest, a guy going soft is only good after sex.  And you know as well as anyone, that sex without a hard-on is pretty damn difficult.  But not all hope is lost.  And I don’t mean dusting off the old buzz-maker.  There are reasons why it happens, which means you’ll be able to fix it. Now, there are two cases here:  The during and the before.  They’re unlikely to be affected by all the reasons. So figure yours out quickly so you can be back in there. *cough* Reasons guys go soft are pretty simple and logical.  And I hope I’ve got them all here: Drugs – This includes alcohol, and is probably the most common amongst young adults with all the drinking and pot taking.  But this also includes medicinal drugs that will effect your erection status.  Things like blood thinners are probably not...

A Little Bit About Ballet

Ballet is an art I cant really understand. The dancers do the most amazing things with their bodies. Ballet can be used to strengthen the body more than most gym sessions. When we were in high school, our rugby coach suggested going to ballet to help with our game, even. I’ve been to a few ballets over the years, and I know to respect the skill and athleticism that the dancers have.  It’s an art that is beautiful and amazing to see, and you’ll want to be able to at any chance. But, The Cape Town City Ballet is...

A Little Bit About Ignorance

As you know, I generally don’t like stupid people. There are varying levels of it, and here is another one. Sure this guy is just expressing his view, but I think he’s being an idiot. This is my response to Anton Taylor’s article, his article he wrote: My my my, but aren’t you bitter. You are a lot younger than I am, so I presume you were not at UCT when I was there, and so you probably weren’t around when IKEYS got their famous win against the Maties back in 2004. It was an epic clash in the usual spirit that most rivalries are known for. I see you went to Bishops, so you should be aware of rivalries. They’re often very intense. Hard. Bloody. And yet everyone wants to be involved in it. I remember going out to Matieland one year for the Intervarsity battle. With my girlfriend. And you’re right, we were treated with the same indignity that you mention. I was pushed into the fences, and jeered, but you put on a brave face and wait until the lady is out of ear shot before you tell them how their sister was the night before. These things happen. Young kids such as yourself should know that when you’re drunk, people do stupid things. It’s quite ironic that you speak about the drunken debauchery that is...

A Little Something About Being A Geek Model

So, it’s official. I’m going to be a model. Please note, however, that I am not going to be a schmodel. They are very different creatures and need to be treated as such. Schmodels are the types that hang out in flashy bars and clubs, but will refuse to be seen in the skank that we all love so much. Schmodels will wear only the latest fashions – my jeans from January will definitely not do. Schmodels have only the biggest attitudes; they are always right; and most importantly, they are the hottest thing in the world. Ever. You get the picture. No one wants to be a schmodel. But Breadline Africa have done something special. They’ve put together a bunch of some good looking geek types and are throwing us on the runway for us all to be MODELS, all in the name of charity.  I am lucky enough to be in some special company.  Contrary to public opinion, I will be one of the guys this time. Th show takes place on the 26th at Bree Street Studios’ Daylight studio. There are only 100 tickets and cost R170 each, which is really nothing to see us geek types showing off – And besides, what opportunity will you have to come have a really good laugh at us all?! Please go check out the Breadline Blog for more...

A Little Bit About Jealousy

Girls and boys are very different. I mean, besides the obvious physical side of things, we’re completely different. Our brains are built the same way, but they’re not. Girls go to the bathroom together, for goodness knows what. To be honest, I can’t even pee if there are other people around. The long story, short, is that we do not think the same way. Girls are crazy. And it’s that simple. As you know, I recently ended things with someone after a few weeks. But before I did, I was witness to some of the most malicious, childish behaviour that I have ever seen. 13 year old girls would have been embarrassed about it. The girls in question had no right to do what they did. They think they do, but they never did. They were mean, stupid, and it was completely unwarranted. She was nothing but lovely. They will never have what she had. They were, and never will be, even close to what she had. I have lost all respect for them, if in various cases, there was any to begin with anyway. But, I don’t know the full story. There is lots missing, but I have enough to be able the write this with some certainty. I didn’t handle the situation properly when it happened. I didn’t really know what to do in that position. I...
